Alex Baratta teaches at The University of Manchester in the UK. His teaching and research interests are within linguistics, both applied linguistics (notably, academic writing) and sociolinguistics. Alex has been published on related areas such as writer stance and identity, discipline-specific writing and visual pedagogy, with the latter area discussed in his book,Visual Writing (2010, Cambridge Scholars Publishing).
